The Sunday School at Vancouver Tamil Christian Assembly (VTCA) serves as a cornerstone of our spiritual community, nurturing the faith of our young members. Guided by the passionate leadership of Sunday School Coordinator Firley Jeswina Immanuel, we work diligently to foster an environment of spiritual growth and learning deeply rooted in biblical teachings.

Inspired by the wisdom of Proverbs 22:6 – “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it”, we understand the importance of early spiritual education. Sunday School is the fertile ground where seeds of faith are sown in young hearts, equipping them to grow into resilient trees of righteousness.

At VTCA Sunday School, we transcend traditional teaching methods. We believe in a holistic approach, creating an immersive experience that deepens children’s understanding of the Gospel and their personal relationship with God. Drawing from Matthew 19:14 – “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these,” we encourage their spiritual curiosity and involvement.

We harness the power of innovative techniques to engage our young learners. Utilizing interactive storytelling, creative arts, role-plays, and multimedia presentations, biblical teachings are brought to life in a modern, relatable context. This unique blend of tradition and innovation sparks their interest, encouraging them to explore their faith more deeply.

Our Sunday School ethos is rooted in inclusivity. Every child’s voice is heard, valued, and welcomed. We foster an environment of discovery, reflecting Matthew 7:7 – “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

Moreover, we extend our efforts beyond the classroom, recognizing the crucial role parents play in a child’s spiritual journey. As emphasized in Deuteronomy 6:6-7, parents are entrusted to impress God’s commandments on their children’s hearts. We engage with parents, equipping them with the necessary resources to extend the faith conversation at home.
