At the Vancouver Tamil Christian Assembly (VTCA), we recognize the critical role that the Youth Meets play in the spiritual development of our young members. Led by our devoted Youth Pastor, Victor Ashish Dasari, we provide a dynamic space for young people to explore, question, and deepen their faith.
Guided by the Apostle Paul’s counsel to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity,” our Youth Meets are designed to empower the youth to live out their faith in tangible ways. We believe that spiritual growth is not confined to a certain age, and we encourage our youth to embrace their faith and spiritual gifts fully.
Our approach to youth ministry is grounded in biblical teachings but is also deeply attuned to the unique challenges and opportunities of contemporary life. We seek to provide a well-rounded perspective that incorporates scientific knowledge and reasoning with our spiritual convictions, as indicated in Romans 12:2, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
At VTCA, we understand that today’s youth face an array of complex questions and challenges that demand more than simplistic answers. Therefore, our Youth Meets utilize a variety of tools, including interactive discussions, practical workshops, and thought-provoking activities that foster critical thinking and problem-solving. We aim to foster an environment where young people can engage with the realities of their faith in a contemporary world, drawing from both scientific and biblical wisdom.
Importantly, our Youth Meets also promote the power of fellowship, echoing the early Christian community’s practices as outlined in Acts 2:42, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” We believe in creating a supportive community where young people can connect, learn from one another, and grow together in faith.
Our goal, under the dynamic leadership of Pastor Victor Ashish Dasari, is to ensure that our youth are spiritually enriched, intellectually stimulated, and socially connected. We are committed to guiding them on their spiritual journey, equipping them to navigate the complexities of the world with wisdom and faith.
